by
Apr 24th, 2024

We’re right in that comfortable weather window of spring with sunny afternoons and cool evenings, so it’s the perfect time to check out a new winery or revisit an old favorite. And to make things better, this list of wineries are dog friendly so you can bring your favorite four-legged friend!

These Dallas wineries are already well known for their atmosphere, wine selection and service, and the fact that you can bring dogs along with you makes them all the more special.

5 great dog-friendly wineries around Dallas

Landon Winery

415 S. Main St., Grapevine, TX

Worth noting: #1 in North Texas, over 20 awards

Beginning in 2005, Landon Winery has grown in popularity and size, now boasting six locations to choose from. Ranked number one in North Texas, Landon Winery wins Best in Show Gold for their Texan Sangiovese Blend, alongside five other awards in the last few years. You can enjoy a glass or tasting flight on the patio while enjoying a small plate of beautifully curated fine eats. Join the Wine Club and enjoy discounts with every visit! Don’t forget to check their events calendar for the latest news on festivals, wine dinners, Sip & Paint events and more!

Scout & Cellar

2261 Morgan Parkway, Suite 180, Farmers Branch, TX

Worth noting: Clean-crafted wines, women owned

Scout & Cellar stand by their Clean-Crafted Commitment and strive to bring you only the best high-quality wine produced sustainably and with conscious pesticide use. Their wine is made using grapes grown without the use of anything artificial, is produced without artificial ingredients (including added sugar), doesn't contain more than 100 parts-per-million (ppm) of sulfites and is independently lab tested to meet their rigorous standards.

The 2021 Dove Hunt Dog Sauvignon Blanc is a fan favorite, and they even carry some non-alcoholic wines if you are taking a break from alcohol but still want to enjoy a nice glass of wine at the end of the day.

Cassaro Winery

704 W. Main St., Ovilla, TX

Worth noting: Awarded Gold in Lone Star International Wine Competition 2020

What started as only 10 vines in 2015 has now grown to nearly 2,000 vines’ worth of grapes bursting with possibility of what they may become next.

The Cassaro Vineyard is located just a few minutes down the road from their tasting room, and Texas wine doesn’t get any more local than this. Enjoy a glass while you sip alongside your friends, enjoy live music and take part in other fun events hosted weekly. The short drive from downtown Dallas will transport you to the idyllic countryside and to a slower, sweeter pace of life by the time you arrive in this stunning locale.

Wine Fusion Winery

603 S Main St #304, Grapevine, TX

Worth noting: “Best Wine Experience in Texas” Award

Probably the most unique events we’ve mentioned on this list are the wine blending classes offered by Wine Fusion Winery, where in less than 2 hours you can make your very own bottle of wine to your preferred tasting.

In this class you will get a flight of tastings, education and training on tips and tricks of blending techniques, plus a bottle of your own creation to take home. Besides learning and playing, you can also enjoy one of their many spectacular wines paired with the best cuisine. This winery is a great place to bring friends as their drink and food menu is quite expansive.

Messina Hof Winery

201 S Main St, Grapevine, TX

Worth noting: Gold, Silver & Bronze awards from Texas Sommelier Conference

Founded on the cornerstones of family, tradition and romance, Messina Hof Winery brings you premium Texas wines you can love and enjoy for years to come.

With a rich tradition dating back to 1977, Messina Hof Winery is a strong, family-owned winery that has won thousands of awards over the decades.

At their Grapevine location, visitors can enjoy up to 40 different wines, premium flights, wine on tap, delectable small plates and wine accessories houses within multiple event spaces. Whatever you choose to enjoy on your visit, a trip to Messina Hof Winery will leave you wanting more!

If you live in or near any of our Dallas apartments, especially our Grapevine apartments, then these wineries should be at the top of your to-do list. Give them a go and see how you like them!

Cheers!
